JEDI team at the Nordic Life Science Days 2024 at Malmö, Sweden

As part of the commercialization efforts in their Business Finland‘s Research to Business project, JEDI team members ( Isaac Afara and Ervin Nippolainen) from the Biomedical Spectroscopy Lab, University of Eastern Finland attended the Nordic Life Science Days 2024 at Malmö, Sweden to pitch their innovation and to network with other innovators and investors.

The University of Eastern Finland continues to encourage researchers to engage in high-quality research with significant societal impact. Business Finland’s Research to Business funding provides support to researchers to take their research from ideas to commercialisation.

JEDI is a Research to Business project funded by Business Finland to commercialize the research innovation from the Biomedical Spectroscopy Lab, University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio, Finland. The project’s mission will be to develop solutions that will revolutionize orthopaedic surgery through evidence-based diagnostics by enabling rapid and non-destructive diagnosis of tissue pathology without compromising workflows.

The ultimate goal is to develop novel technologies to support clinicians in delivering optimal to enable better patient outcomes. Upon completion of the project, the optimal commercialisation pathway for JEDI to support objective assessment of tissue integrity during joint surgery will be determined and implemented.
